With everyday computing there is need to make things as portable and as mobile as possible. Nothing helps with that like having a wireless keyboard and mouse Set. Wireless Keyboard sets are bought if you want to use your computer with a Tv screen for example, or if your CPU is connected to your monitor and you want to use your computer on the comfort of your bed or a chair some distance away.
When we talk about wireless Keyboard and mouse there are two kinds that come into play. The ones that use Bluetooth technology for wireless connectivity and the ones that use wireless transmitter with mostly 2.4 GHz carrier frequency. The cliptec wireless keyboard combo set that I shall feature here uses the wireless transmitter. I prefer the wireless transmitter as it leaves my Bluetooth for other use, such as file sharing. When one is purchasing a keyboard the key factors to look for are: Features: Easy to press keys and keys which are silent when pressed. You shouldn’t have to force the keys for the characters to appear on the computer. Slot for putting the Wireless transmitter whether on keyboard or mouse. Extra specialized functional keys on the keyboard. Design: Light weight keyboard and mouse for easy handling. Sleek, slim, streamlined keyboard not only will it make it comfortable to use but it also makes a good impression to the people seeing you using the gadget, be it at work or at home. Last but not least the wireless keyboard set should be durable and have batteries that are long lasting.
I recently purchased the Cliptec wireless Keyboard from Text book center in Sarit Center, Westlands, Nairobi, after buying a previous wireless keyboard. The one I had bought earlier I had purchased from the city center and it was retailing at 2000 ksh. I was disappointed after buying that keyboard and after some weeks of using it, I just had to buy the cliptec. That keyboard as shown in the picture , had keys that were difficult to press and was not efficient for typing fast, some letters would not appear as you type and it was quite bulky.
I went to Text Book Center and saw the CLiPtec NET-MEDIA AIR Slimline Wireless Keyboard Combo Set. I pondered and pondered over the purchase as this item was retailing for 3500 ksh. I wonder why it would be more expensive. Mind you, I had being to that shop before buying the wireless keyboard and mouse set that gave me a headache. It’s quite true that cheap is expensive, and east or west home is best, as i returned back to Text Book Centre to purchase the Cliptec keyboard. I painfully closed my eyes and paid for the keyboard. I was eager to use it and see if I got my money’s worth… and indeed I did.
Unwrapping the box, it was there, white in color with the mouse beside it. The keyboard comes with a keyboard cover protecting the keys from wear and tear and entry of dust or liquids. The mouse compact, also white in color just fits perfectly on the hands. The mouse has a slot for putting the Wireless transmitter, a feature the previous keyboard set did not have. The wireless keyboard set had built-in intelligent power chipset for battery lasting more than 2 months (depending on daily usage). If your computer is off, the device automatically goes off. If you haven’t used the device it hibernates in some way, preserving power. The keyboard has 13 Extra one-touch buttons enabling you carry out certain tasks quick and easy.
I now do not regret buying this gadget but i learnt my lesson that cheap can be expensive.
